Seasonal Spotlight - Hot Days, Hotter Plants
Summer is the perfect time to put down roots — literally. Right now at Hillside, we're stocked with some of the best plants for Colorado's heat, altitude, and wildlife pressure. Here's what we're loving this season:
Colorado Natives — Beautiful, resilient, and built for our climate. Native plants require less water, less fuss, and give back to local pollinators all season long.
Hyssop — A Colorado garden staple. Hyssop thrives in full sun, attracts bees and hummingbirds, and holds its color deep into summer. Incredibly drought tolerant once established.
Penstemon — One of the showiest natives you can plant. Tall spikes of tubular blooms in reds, purples, and pinks that hummingbirds absolutely love. A must for any Colorado garden.
Delphinium — If you want dramatic vertical color, this is it. Our delphiniums are stunning right now and perfect for adding height to beds and borders.
