Frequently Asked Questions

BOOKING

We can hold dates for up to 48 hours to give you time to check the date with close family/friends.

To book a date, we require a signed contract and 25% of the rental rate as a deposit + security deposit.

CAPACITY

We recommend guest counts of 150 or less, hosting both ceremony & reception.

We can accommodate guest counts over 150 but a few logistical items would be required (additional tables and chairs, tenting for a rain plan and providing guest transportation to minimize parking issues).

RESTROOMS

We have multiple unisex restrooms located in the farmhouse. For Wednesday Night Concert Series we have additional portable toilets located near the trailer bar on the west side.

ACCESSIBILITY

At Hillside Gardens, we prioritize handicap accessibility to ensure everyone can enjoy our space. The main event area boasts concrete and gravel pathways, granting easy access to all primary locations, including restrooms. The main house, where the first-floor restrooms are located, is equipped with a ramp for seamless entry. Additionally, we have one ADA restroom available. To further assist individuals, our attentive staff is prepared to provide transportation via a golf cart upon request (please note that this service is not available during concerts).

PARKING

We have two lots at Hillside the top lot through the main gate is for event guests and there is a second lot which is accessed through the main lot that leads down behind the event space for vendors, bridal party or easy handicap accessibility.

For Wednesday Night Concerts we rent out the neighboring church parking lot while reserving the Hillside lot specifically for handicap parking. If parking becomes limited, we recommend street parking, carpooling, or even riding your bike to the event. As always, we kindly ask that you respect our neighbors by refraining from blocking driveways. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

WEATHER

We love Colorado and all the amazing weather it holds but we also know that the weather is unpredictable. Hillside is a mostly outdoor venue so it’s important to have a good rain plan. Our Pavilion is typically where we host the reception portion of the wedding but it also can host the ceremony if weather isn’t cooperating. We are a high desert so be sure to drink lots of water and wear sunscreen!

Here are a few recommendations for the weather.

ALCOHOL

NO outside alcohol is permitted on property. We have a full liquor license to meet all of your needs.

We charge a refundable deposit for weddings/events to insure that no outside alcohol is brought in.

For concerts we have up to 8 bars. Besides our main bar (an old Army Ambulance from the 1940’s) we have :Cactus Jacks - tequila, Bottle and Stem - Wine, Whiskey Bar in the old Blacksmith shop, Trailer bar, and an Non Alcoholic bar.

SMOKING

To preserve the beauty of our gardens, we ask you to kindly avoid smoking in areas that are not designated for it. At Hillside, we have a designated smoking area near the front entrance to ensure the protection of our lush surroundings. If you require an additional smoking area, please let us know, and we will be happy to arrange it.

CATERING

When it comes to catering for your event, we ask that you choose from our preferred vendor list. We have handpicked a selection of top-notch caterers who meet our quality and service standards. We want to ensure that your guests have an amazing dining experience!

It's important to note that we require full-service catering. We want our guests to be treated to exceptional service from start to finish. To guarantee food safety and compliance with health regulations, we do not allow "drop and go" services or food that isn't prepared or prepped in a commercial kitchen. We believe in serving only the best!

By sticking to our preferred vendors and opting for full-service options, we're confident in providing a memorable and delicious culinary journey for everyone. Your understanding and cooperation are truly appreciated. Let's make this event a feast to remember!

COORDINATOR

We highly encourage (and in some cases require) our clients to hire out the expertise of an insured, professional Coordinator or Event Manager, as their roles are distinct and invaluable. Whether you opt for a day-of, month-of, partial planning, or full-service coordinator, their involvement is highly recommended.

At Hillside Gardens, we have our in-house Coordinator, Erika, who is available to provide month-of coordinating or planning services independently from our venue. She brings her expertise and dedication to ensuring a seamless and memorable event, working alongside our team at Hillside Gardens.

By engaging a professional Coordinator or Planner, you can enhance your event experience and have peace of mind, knowing that every detail is being carefully handled. Feel free to explore the services offered by Erika or bring in your preferred coordinator to create a truly remarkable occasion.

SOUND

With respect for our neighbors and adhering to the noise ordinance last song is at 10:15pm and the gates lock at 11pm.

We do offer a PA system with a corded microphone for your ceremony for additional cost however, we do not have a microphone or sound system for the reception. Ask that your DJ or band to provide one for the reception.

VENDORS

We do not require the use of our preferred vendors (except for catering and Entertainment), but we do recommend them! We provide clients our preferred vendor list during venue tours.

PETS

While we love our four legged friends, there are no pets allowed for private events, during the garden center and concerts.

For weddings, well-behaved dogs are permitted to be part of the ceremony and photos but need to return home for reception. While on the property, dogs must be leashed, supervised at all times, and we request they are promptly cleaned up after.

RESTRICTIONS

We ask that you do not use rice, synthetic rose petals, bird seed, silly string, confetti, glitter, balloons or anything that can be ingested by wildlife in our outdoor areas, as it can be deadly.

You may bring in your own décor, but it must be installed in a way that does not damage our venue or grounds and isn’t affected by the Colorado breeze – no staples, duct tape, tacks, glue guns, or nails. Real flower petals are allowed so long as they are cleaned up after.
